GCMS Families,
We will be adjusting our practice for symptomatic students and school exclusions effective immediately.
Mandatory exclusion from school will be for children who have a fever, vomiting, or diarrhea. The absence should continue until those symptoms are gone for a minimum of 24 hours.
Students with other symptoms are recommended to stay home, get an alternative diagnosis from a medical professional, or have a negative COVID test prior to return. Covid tests can be completed through a testing site, medical professional, at home tests, or GCMS can provide tests for at home use while supplies last.
Covid positive students and staff will follow the same practice and exclusions.
This adjustment is being made with the support of Ford County Public Health with an emphasis of keeping healthy kids at school, and encouraging sick kids to stay home and seek proper medical guidance at parents discretion.
Thank you for your attention and understanding as we continue to adjust our practice in alignment with public health circumstances and expectations. We will continue to partner with stakeholders and adjust our practice as needed or required.
Sincerely,
Mr. Darnell
GCMS High School families and local employers: Please take 5-7 minutes to complete this survey, which will help our local career and technical (vocational) education programs better serve our students. Thank you for your support! https://bit.ly/3KeHzlA
Congratulations to our Middle School Students of the Month for February!
6th Grade - Kira Knerr
7th Grade - Avery Hyatt
8th Grade - Talon Holliday
In order to build in more Social Emotional time for Middle School students this year, the staff created small groups of students to meet with one to two times per month. This allows each student in the building to have a 'go to' staff member if they need anything at all. Yesterday, as a part of Spirit Week, the small groups dressed with a theme unique to them. Enjoy the smiles from all of our small groups! https://bit.ly/3CeZ6Yb
GCMS Families,
Don't forget today is an 11:30 dismissal! Enjoy the warm afternoon off!
Sincerely,
Mr. Darnell
