GCMS Families, We are just days away from the conclusion of the first semester at GCMS. A couple of quick reminders to families. Tuesday, December 20th is our last day of attendance and will be a 2:20 dismissal. School resumes for students on Wednesday, January 4th for students. PLEASE keep your kids home if they are sick. There are many illnesses running rampant right now. Reminder that your child must be 24 hours free of fever, vomiting, and diarrhea. We understand missing school, and the fun events that come with this time of year is hard, but we do not want to spread germs that cause others to miss school, family events, or holiday fun. I want to give a shout out to our staff, because like kids many of our staff have missed due to illness and those that are here are stepping up to fill the voids so that school can go on! Special thanks to our amazing substitute crew who don't have to answer the phone at 6:30 am and come running to serve our kids. Thank you to everyone for your time, effort, and attention to our kids! Sincerely, Mr. Darnell

Good morning! There have been a lot of questions about the Santa Shop that the FBLA is hosting this Friday at the elementary school, so I wanted to try to clear some things up: 1) Kids typically go to this after school with their parents or a sibling either with them or in the hallway waiting for them (it will be open until 6:00 pm). 2) The envelope is so that kids can have money in that envelope when they come to the shop and the helpers know who to assist the kids to shop for (so that parents can be surprised with what their kids get for them). 3) Kids will not be going to this with their classroom. 4) Please do not send $ to school for this. I apologize for any misunderstanding! I realize that we have not done this in several years, and it should have been explained better. Please let me know if you have other questions. Mr. Kean
