Attention Freshmen families: All freshmen are required to turn in their Chromebooks by Thursday of this week. Please remove any stickers or other decorations before returning the devices. Attention Middle School Parents: All MS Student Chromebooks will be collected for the summer on Tuesday. Please make sure your student brings in their Chromebook tomorrow. Hard to believe this is our last Friday!!! Seniors enjoy the next couple days, you earned it! Everyone else, finish strong and enjoy the final days of 2022-2023.
I wanted to take a moment to give a big shout out, and share some news, about our crossing guards Derrick Babbs and Melissa Salyards who have been dedicated to their crossings for years.
This summer Gibson City will be redoing the roads around the Elementary and High School campuses and with that we will be making some adjustments in parking and traffic flow which will include eliminating the human crossing guards on these two 4 way stop intersections. We wanted to share this information so those kids and families that cross these areas are aware well in advance to communicate with your children, and bid say goodbye to these two great people next week.
Stay tuned in late July or early August for details on traffic flow, rules of the road, and community awareness for the many 4 way stops that surround our schools!

Our 1st graders had a great time at the North Park in Gibson City for their picnic day today!
The following Middle School Track athletes earned medals at the IESA Class 2A State Track and Field Meet this past weekend in East Peoria:
8th girls 400m- Lily Sizemore 5th in state
8th girls 4x400m relay- Lily Sizemore, Brilee Little, Josie Kleist, Kate McCall, Avery Hyatt (alt) 3rd in state
8th boys high jump- Reed Tompkins 6th in state
8th boys 400m- Evan Landers-Kristensen 5th in state
And our STATE CHAMPION:
Evan Landers-Kristensen- 8th boys 800m 1st in state with a new state 2A record time of 2:08.72!
2nd Grade finished their economics unit with a carnival! Students got to interact as both producers and consumers budgeting their tickets for different treats and activities such as hitting Mr. Nuss with a water balloon!
