And just like that the rules changed. Face coverings DO NOT have to be worn by fans if social distancing is practiced. Sorry, the rules we have to follow are constantly evolving. This is a good change. Stay safe and enjoy your kids contests.

Families,
According to both IESA and IHSA fan expectations, as supported by IDPH, ALL fans must maintain social distancing and wear a face covering, unless eating or drinking. In addition GCMS administration has asked that only immediate family (guardians and siblings) attend contests to ensure we are in compliance. Failure to comply with these expectations could lead to elimination of fans or cancellation of games.
Our students athletes are answering the call so that they can compete, practice, and improve. Please respect those efforts and lead by example. We realize the frustration these expectations create, but we need to adhere to them to maintain opportunities for our kids.

Good Morning GCMS! One more quick reminder that in order to use one of our GCMS Chromebooks at home you need to be signed in to our CIPA filter. You can find it in the gcmsk12.org bookmarks or at https://portal.gcmsk12.net/
A reminder that today (Wed., Aug. 26th) and all Wednesdays are remote learning days and students are not physically in attendance at school. Assignments have been given in class or will be digitally and staff are available to answer questions online or over the phone.

Shout out to GCMS 8th Grader Brayden Elliott on his perfect game last night vs. Prairie Central. 6 innings and 12 Ks. Not to mention 2-3 from the plate including a HR, 2B, and 3 RBIs. Great job Brayden and the Falcon baseball team!

Our seniors took ownership of their parking spots today. Their creativity knows no bounds! The barricades will be down in the morning so take a Sunday drive and check out what our kids can do.

What a great three days! Keep self certifying, keep working to keep your family healthy and safe, and get a great couple of days of rest to get back to work on Monday. Don’t forget next Wednesday is our first Remote Learning Day. We all learned a lot this week and will be better next week.
