Good morning GCMS Middle School! Today is Thursday, August 22nd.
Would you now please rise and recite the Pledge of Allegiance.
Attention students interested in trying out for cheerleading, please come to the office to get an informational packet and to sign up. Cheer tryouts will be held on September 3. There will be a parent meeting on Wednesday, August 28th in the cafeteria at 5:30 PM.
Our softball team played a great game last night. After falling behind 7-2, they battled back to tie the game at 7 going into the 7th inning. They ultimately lost 11-9, but showed amazing toughness throughout the game. Great job ladies!
Good luck to our baseball team today as they travel to St. Malachy.
Family Book Club sign ups are open until August 23rd. We will be reading the book “How to Learn”. This is an excellent book on how to succeed in school without spending all of your time studying. Families that sign up on the link below will receive one copy of the book. https://forms.gle/grpuUsmDDYE1cn6b9
Students, please make sure that your cellphone and smart watches are put away in your locker.
All students need to complete their daily check-in. The check-in can be found in the SEL Classroom. Also, if students are eating school lunch today you need to sign up on your Chromebook via the Google Form. Please make sure you have the correct date on your form. When you click on the calendar it should have today’s date of August 22nd circled. First choice today is Bosco Sticks. Second choice is a pork fritter.
Attention 8th grade students that eat lunch outside. You left way too much food around your tables yesterday. Being able to eat outside is a privilege based on the fact that we believe you require less supervision since you are in 8th grade. Today you will get one more chance to prove that you are capable of eating lunch outside. When you are done eating it should look as if nobody was ever there. Please be sure to clean up after yourself today. If you are not able to do this then you will have to eat inside the cafeteria.
Today is a 2:20 dismissal day so your classes will be shortened. Please use this week to get acclimated with your schedule and to learn all of the expectations and procedures in each of your classes.
Students, please remember to follow our school-wide expectations of Be on Time, Be Prepared, Be Respectful, and Be Safe.
Thank you and have a fantastic day Falcons!
