Attention students, this week is teacher and staff appreciation week. We are blessed to have outstanding teachers and staff members here at the middle school. Our teachers and para’s do so much to help each and every student. To thank them this week we have planned some fun activities. Today’s activity is to draw a picture for your teacher. Tomorrow’s celebration day is to dress like your favorite staff member. Let’s give our teacher’s a great week!
Students, all library books will be due next Monday, May 13th
Gibson Area Swim team forms are in the office. If you or a family member are interested in participating on the swim team this year, please pick up a form. In person sign ups will be this Wednesday evening at the Gibson City pool shed at 6:00pm. If you have any questions please see Mrs. Little.
Congratulations to the following track team members that qualified for the state track meet at Saturday’s Sectional. We will have a parade for these athletes Thursday afternoon as they will not be at school on Friday.

Also track team members, there is no practice today. Practices this week will be from Tuesday-Thursday and will only be for athletes that qualified for state.
Attention 8th graders planning to participate in the summer strength and conditioning program at the high school this summer: there will be a weight room clinic session at the new weight room at the elementary school immediately after school on Tuesday, April 14th. HS coaches and trainers will be there to make sure you are set up for summer workouts, teaching proper lifting techniques and weight room rules and procedures. Make sure you have workout clothes and proper footwear. The clinic will last about 45 minutes
Also 8th grade students, if you are interested in playing tennis next year there will be a meeting at 11:35 on Wednesday. There is also information in the office regarding tennis camp for middle school students. Tennis camp will take place from July 15-19.
8th grade boys and girls interested in playing golf in high school next year, please sign up in the office.
Attention 6th and 7th grade students, if you are interested in participating in JFL Football or Cheerleading next fall there is sign-up information on the counter in the office. There is also information about soccer camp.
Students, we will have Fastbridge testing this week. These tests are only given three times per year. Please try your best on these tests as we use your results to determine class placement. 8th grade students, please be advised that the high school also uses these results for class placement as well. Good luck and show what you have learned!
Also students, please make sure that your cellphones are off and stored in your locker. If you are eating school lunch today and have not signed up yet please do so now.
