Good morning GCMS Middle School! Today is Thursday, November 2nd.
Would you now please rise and recite the Pledge of Allegiance.
Students and staff, thank you so much for your cooperation yesterday afternoon in taking our school picture celebrating our exemplary designation. That photo and an article about our school's achievement will be in Friday’s Champaign News Gazette newspaper.
Good luck to our girls and boys basketball team tonight as they both have games against Cissna Park. The boys will be on the road while the girls will be here at home. The theme for tonight's home game is “Black Out.”
There is sign-up info on the counter in the office for any 6th, 7th, or 8th grade boys and girls interested in going out for Middle School Wrestling. Be sure to take an info packet and sign up on the sheet if you are interested. Wrestling practice begins Nov. 27. There will be a meeting for all wrestlers and their parents next Mon. Nov. 6 at 5:30 in the cafeteria. Please contact Coach Brucker if you cannot attend. See Coach Berry if you have any questions.
Please be sure to have warm clothing for recess. If it’s not wet outside and if it's warmer than 20 degrees we will go outside for recess. So please make sure that you have a coat to wear.
Students, please check the lost and found rack which is located by the water vending machine. There are quite a few items that need to be claimed.
We would like for all students to do their check-in during the 1st hour. Even if you do not want a check-in today please be sure to log-in and submit that you do not want a check-in. We want all students to be comfortable with this process. This helps make sure that Mrs. V and Mrs. Zook can get to anyone who wants a check-in throughout the day.
Also students, please make sure that your cellphones are off and stored in your locker. If you are eating school lunch today and have not signed up yet please do so now.
Students, please remember to follow our school-wide expectations of Be on Time, Be Prepared, Be Respectful, and Be Safe.
Thank you and have a fantastic day Falcons!
