Good morning GCMS Middle School! Today is Friday, October 6th.
Would you now please rise and recite the Pledge of Allegiance.
Students, September was National Suicide Awareness and Prevention month. We realize it's no longer September, but we have a wonderful guest speaker that you will meet today in your PE class. Mackenzie Nelson was a college softball player and had an event take place that led to her no longer being able to play softball. Mackenzie is going to tell you about her story and what she learned about mental health. Students when you are in PE today please give her a warm GCMS welcome and try to learn a couple things from her presentation.
Students, please be sure to check out the lost and found rack which is located next to the water vending machine. We have quite a few items that need to be claimed. Items not claimed by the end of the day will be donated to charity.
Yearbook cover designs are due by the end of day on Oct. 10th. See Ms. Ferguson in the library for paper and any questions.
Sign-ups for 6/7/8 boys basketball are on the counter in the office. Any boys interested in going out for basketball should sign up and take an informational packet. Tryouts begin Mon. Oct. 16. See Coach Berry if you have any questions.
Attention students, schedule change request forms are located on the table outside of Mrs. Zook’s office. Please follow the directions on the form and return it to Mrs. Zook.
We would like for all students to do their check-in during the 1st hour. Even if you do not want a check-in today please be sure to log-in and submit that you do not want a check-in. We want all students to be comfortable with this process. This helps make sure that Mrs. V and Mrs. Zook can get to anyone who wants a check-in throughout the day.
Also students, please make sure that your cellphones are off and stored in your locker. Today we dismiss at 11:30 so there is no school lunch today.
Students, please remember to follow our school-wide expectations of Be on Time, Be Prepared, Be Respectful, and Be Safe.
Thank you and have a fantastic day Falcons!
